Flights + Travel

Please book your flights into Mexico City International Airport. Upon arrival at the airport, you’ll receive a FMM form (tourist card). Please keep the bottom of your card with your passport as it's needed to board your departing flight (or you'll get fined!)

US Citizens do not need a visa to enter Mexico — only a valid passport.

For all other citizens, please check this site to see if there are any visa requirements.

If you're traveling back to the United States, you'll be required to have proof of a negative COVID test 48 hours prior to travel. You can easily get one by arriving at the airport earlier and getting your test there (first come, first serve.)

Uber is readily accessible, safe and easy to use around the city. Alice is also a huge fan of Rappi — Mexico's DoorDash. You can get anything you need delivered to you easily.

Places to Stay

Airbnb has great options — we recommend staying in Roma (where the wedding will be) or in Condesa or Juarez, which are adjacent neighborhoods.

If you would like to be matched with other friends traveling from out of town to share accommodations, please let us know and we'll do our best to match y'all!

Safety

Mexico City is a cosmopolitan district with some of Latin America's best museums and restaurants. Just like any other metro area, some situations are safer than others. Here are some things to keep in mind in any major city:

  • Wear your mask as you explore the city

  • Make sure to always be traveling with another person

  • Make sure you always know where you're going — use Google Maps to confirm your commute

  • Use caution when walking at night, especially when under the influence 😉

The tap water in Mexico City is safe for showering and brushing your teeth, but not for drinking so you'll need to purchase bottled water. All restaurants serve bottled water and ice, even if it's in a pitcher.

Most restaurants and vendors in the city serve food that is safe to eat.
